Diesel GV battery.

Diesel GV battery.
Just passing on some information;--
Recently I was given for free a battery from a Merc. "A" series petrol, and I fitted it as the 'helper' battery inside the GV's cab. Some Merc. mechanic thought it was faulty and changed it. It wasn't faulty. It's owner was grateful for many favors I've done him in the past, so he handed it on to me, keeping the new battery fitted by the Merc. mechanic.
It was so good, I've fitted it as the SOLE battery, and I'm testing it out for the next week or so.
It fitted straight in the battery carrier with no mods, although the terminals had to be reversed for polarity. The little clamp at bottom fits too.
It says on it "Mercedes" with tristar, and it also says "made in Italy" on it.
The spec. is 74a/hour, 680amp. cranking.
I'll report as to performance after sufficient testing.

I rotated the battery 180*. You can still get the clamp-terminals on -- just.
Anyone else doing anything like this be VERY careful the polarity is correct, the -ve (black terminal) ALWAYS goes directly to chassis/ground.
Get the polarity reversed for only a millisecond and you are in for big grief.
