Default driver mirror

Hi everyone,

I am afirst time poster in this forum.I have a 2001 Town and Country and need to replace the drivers side mirror. I have unbolted the mirror and removed some of the interior trim pieces. I removed the trim from the front piller and can just see part of the harness for the mirror. From what I have observed so far it looks like the entire dash needs to be removed in order to get access to the wire for the mirror. Can somone give me some advice or reply with some type of picture. At this moment I am concidering sucking it up and taking it to the dealer.

Chrtech has nailed it. The front part of the dash will unsnap, you can get atthe conection by only loosing off the side you need to replace. I can usually get them unsnapped with just a quick jerk with my fingers on the lip of the panel. The connection is just behind where the speaker would be.

You were right about the dash just pulling up. It was a piece of cake, however the mirror Ireceived was not what I had ordered. It was not auto-dimor memory.I was not aware of this until I had installed the replacement andhad taken the old mirror apart. Lessons learned!

Well don't kill yourself over it. I have mirrors pre-ordered all the time, and I would almost have to say 40% of the time, they are wrong.

I won't, I will just wait and get another one. Anyway, this one functions and is good for now.

On the topic of driver mirrors, I have a problem with mine, mine got bent forwards and now it just flops around in the wind, it seems the gearing is broken, does it sound like I need a new mirror assembly ? or can I part the mirror housing from the hinge and replace the gearing ????

This is on a UK 1998 model.

Thanks.
