Exclamation DVD player stopped playing dvds

Hi. I have a Grand Voyager 3.3 Petrol Limited (2003) UK- it came with a built-in Mopar DVD player. When I first picked up the car about 2 months ago it worked fine. Then I played a music dvd disc and that worked ok, that a created myself. I also created a video dvd and that also worked ok. Since then I tried to play ordinary purchased dvds and it will not read them, just comes up with a general read error message on the screen.

Is there a reset button to make it play ordinary purchased DVDs? or can the dealer do something?

Thanks in advance.

Chan

Is your DVD player single disc or 6-disc?

I'm not sure about the single disc players but the 6-disc ones go bad all the time. New ones (if the dealer even has them) are expensive, repair is not possible and used is the only reasonable route.

When mine (6-disc in a 2005 Town and Country Limited) went bad I eventualy got a newer used one on eBay. No repair option, and a new one was $700 USD.
