Default electrical lock problem

hey i have a 2006 dodge caravan with a lock problem customer says the locks dont work with the door switch or the key fob i was wondering how they are wired up. is the switch wired to the control module where the module sends a ref voltage to the switch and when it sees a change in voltage it locks or unlocks the doors or is the switchwired directly between the power and/or ground of the solenoids. or is the switch connected to a door module where it communicates with another module to unlock all of the other doors. also there should be a fuse for the door locks and where and what number is the fuse thank u

First off try disconnecting the battery then reconnecting it, there was a flash for this for the 05 for the BCM. the body control module controls the locks and the switch is wired to it.

I find it most disturbing that some one getting paied to find a prob or do a job is on a web forum with mostly non techs getting info on how things work and what to do.

I see your point, but on the other hand, if he didn't get the information here, he may take a lot longer to track down the problem, so hopefully the customer (who may not be able to do the work themselves, even if they had the knowledge) will benefit with a quicker turnaround and lower bill.

Just a suggestion - perhaps the moderators could consider two levels of forum access - one which people have to pay for (so professional mechanics could pay for the service) with a fast turnaround of answers, and one free where answers aren't provided for, say, 48 hours. Just a thought to compensate those experts on here who do give their time and expertise freely.
