Default Failed NJ Emissions...

NJ Inspection station reported the computer can not be read, therefore no emissions data, FAIL.

Dealership said they couldn't do anything, do to no emission equipment.

Yes, I changed the battery. MONTHS ago. The EGR valve was recently replaced by the dealership it came, because of a leak that was noticed prior.

The check engine light flashes 10 times after 15 sec off the ignition in ON. Manual says go to dealer

Is the check engine light on after it starts?

Will NJ not perform a tailpipe emissions test if the readiness indicators aren't set (assuming this is your issue)?

Not sure. My poor wife was the one that took it down there. It sounds as if they gave her the run around.

I believe it goes by year, make, and model. They may need to see data from the OBD to determine emissions in addition to tail pipe.

I am guessing here.

So when they plugged into the OBD port all they got was the "not ready" signal, and no the engine light is off when fully started.

I am planning on taking it to a Chrysler Dealership next week unless someone hear has a better idea.
