Default FCM Removal

Can anyone explain to me how to remove the FCM on a 2001 town and country?

Front control module, little but important micro controller based module under IPM. Controls lights, wipers, horn, fans, demister etc. It's essentially an information exchange between the CAN network and the IPM.

- both the FCM and the IPM [Power Distribution Centre] control exactly the same things- either could be the fault

I'd start by eliminating the IPM [which you can do] not the FCM [which I think needs programming to the VIN] You have had 15 years of acid, salt, rain, and $hite in and under the IPM, its wiring and plug pins and connectors - Best of luck.

Is this an issue with the front headlights not working. If it is there is possibly a break in the wiring between IPM/FCM and headlight. I had this fault to nearside light and found a bad repair bypass wire bridging the harness so I investigated and found break in harness where it was rubbing a plastic bit of under shield, front left of engine compartment.

Was your light problem just the driver light not working or one light not working and switching sides when going from low to high beams but only having one light either way?

Just the nearside headlight/full beam. Have a check on You Tube on this issue think I found a video that indicates this is a known fault area.
