Default FOB key stopped working

Hello guys, I am stuck here with freezing temp today and my 1998 Chrysler voyager suddenly can not start. Earlier I took my son to school and things were normal but upon returning home I realised i can not lock the doors using the remote but the key works. When trying to start the immo kicks in and the remote not working. I changed batteries without success. From here I found something about melting connector at the heater I checked it looks fine. Have to pick my son later am confused. Help!

Strangest thing to me is how come it just stop abruptly, not with intermittent stopping? Up to the time I switched the car off, everything worked fine. It just do not come into my senses that it might be a battery(ies). Or may be there is a very serious issue here!!

Changed battery in FOB or car battery? Or both?

What happens when you try to start car? Any noise? Does it try to start or nothing happens at all?
