Gearbox/Transmission Issue
New here, first post, any advice gladly received. I'm based in the UK and have a 2012 Grand Voyager Auto 2.8 Diesel. So I have this occasional issue with the transmission. On some drives, within the first couple minutes of driving out my village the motor will get stuck in gear, I think 2nd, and just will not change up. I pull over turn the engine off and start again and when I do so that solves the problem and she doesn't do it again on that drive. I have previously had the EML come on and when read it has shown code PO846. Gearbox was serviced with new filter and fluid in April but still have the problem. Anyone else experienced this and know how to fix? Am I looking at a major gearbox problem or a sensor problem?
The issue you're experiencing with your 2012 Grand Voyager's transmission getting stuck in gear could be related to a few things. The P0846 code points to a problem with the transmission fluid pressure sensor. Since you’ve already changed the filter and fluid, it might be worth looking into the sensor itself or its wiring.
