You need special tools for setting up, they are on Flee-bay, or mark up old belt and transfer to new.
Not much room in there to work, job is on You Tube (I think).
There was one went through on Flee-bay just hours ago, 2006 Grand LTD XS, 46K Miles with service history. around £44500. Stunning if you wait.
Good Luck.
Holy moly, which garage do you use Goggs?? £75 an hour

The most expensive independant where I am is around £45 an hour...

But I note your comments with gratitude, thanks

I was watching a 2006 with 46K that ended at £5950? is that the same one?

Silver or light colour with stow and go seats. Top one, Nice.

I had been very tempted with it, but the seller wanted collection within 7 days (fair enough) and I wouldnt be able to get there till 13th feb.

The one I'm potentially getting is virtually identical but with chrome side steps and no bodywork damage.

I'm trying to get more info from a friend that is local to the dealer as to whether they are OK or not..

Does this have 'Stow & Go' seating? My first Voyager was a 2004 model, before 'Stow & Go' had been introduced. Lifting the back seat in and out was a two man job. My current Voyager is a 2007 which has 'Stow & Go'. It's a great feature to have because when the seats are up you have tons of additional storage space.

In case anyone is interested, my previous car, a Jag, was £100 per hour for servicing. Needles to say, it was never serviced at a main dealer. Scotch John in Leeds did my servicing for a lot less. A hell of a lot less. By liasing with the Jag. Enthusiast's website, I told him what to do, got the spares, and he did it, fitted them and got paid. A beautiful relationship.

Yes it does Alan. I made sure that was on as I knew it would be a godsend. The seats in our Grand Espace we're lift out ones and an absolute nightmare!

Default Update.

Dealer said he didn't have time to scan and email all the service paperwork, but did describe what was written on the receipts:

The most recent receipt is for:- 23/05/2013 HANDFORTH GARAGE (01625 532697) which was for a total of £463 which included front pads & discs, oil & filter. Before that 13/04/2012 S**** GR*** GARAGE which was for a total of £218 included oil & filter, pollen filter, fuel filter. 15/04/2011 W***** GARAGE for a total of £498 which included oil & filter, fuel filter, heater plugs, air filter & pollen filter. 17/01/2010 W****** GARAGE for a total of £217 which included oil/air/fuel & pollen filters. 13/06/2008 KI******* Garage for a total of £380 included oil & filter, air conditioning and heater filter, fuel filter. 01/11/2005 CHRYSLER For a total of £329 including air conditioning & heater filter, oil filter.

He has confirmed that the cambelt has not been changed but it is not due till 100K...?

He also says 'everything works' with regards to the electrical features of the vehicle.

But could not confirm the battery make and model.

What do you guys reckon?

Could the cambelt and battery cost me a fortune?

I had the cambelt replaced on my first Voyager, which was a 2.5 TD, at 75,000. The garage also replaced the idle wheel bearing (I think that's what it's called) and I'm sure they only charged around £240.00. I think Chrysler recommend changing the cambelt on the 2.8 TD at 100,000. I also replaced the battery on that vehicle 2 or 3 times (I did own it for 9 years) and the new batteries never cost more than £120.00.
However, a few weeks ago my current 2.8 Voyager failed to start while I was away from home. The RAC mechanic diagnosed a faulty starter motor but he also tested the battery which he said tested OK. But he did say that the type of battery fitted to my car would cost about £250. to replace. A few days later I had a new starter motor fitted by a local garage at a cost of £160 but fortunately when I bought the car I took out an additional 15 month warranty with Autoguard Warranties and they paid the full cost of the new starter directly to the garage. The warranty cost me £170 to take out.
Edit: I would ask the dealer who you are buying the Voyager from if they are agents for Autoguard Warranties. If so, I think it's well worth having, even though the warranty wouldn't cover cambelt or battery replacement.

Cheers Alan

In short, would you panic about changing the cambelt on a 2005 2.8 GV if it was at 80K miles?

I got 3 separate prices today:

Chrysler Main Dealer - £1000
Mr Clutch - £478
Dealers Garage - £400

I could just do without shelling out for it for a month or so...

I think your safe for another 10k. Mine has done 72k so I probably will leave the belt until 90k or so. Now I'm retired I don't do much mileage so it will be a year or so before it needs changing.
