Default green l.e.d light

does anyone know what the green led light is for in the roof panel by the door switches/trip computer
it comes on with the lights not really sure of its purpose

At night, if you look down towards the handbrake, you'll notice that greed light seems to provide very low level illumination for that part of the interior.

My guess is it allows you to see the storage box in front of the handbrake, cupholders etc at night. But I'm not really sure. I've never seen it mentioned in any manuals.

I thought I read someone mention a green light for the auto dimming mirror ??
