Inefficient rear brakes?
Hi All
I have a '99 2.5TD owned since new. A real love/hate relationship I have to say!! The problem I have is for the last 2 MOT's, the rear brakes have failed the efficiency test. This is not apparent until the tester puts the figures into the system. On both occasions, the 'rolling road' test appears within limits and the tester is happy with results. We have managed to get it to pass by pumping/pressing hard on the brake pedal. Have replaced shoes and brake cylinders but no real change noted. Does anyone know if the brake proportioning valves could be the problem and any way of testing them?
Many thanks
