Melted wires -Electric system problem

Greetings,

Looking for help fixing my electric system .This is what happened.

The driver side sun visor kept falling down so in a fit of anger I ripped it off which resulted in the two wires that power the light in the sun visor melting together and shorting. As a result of this a fuse blew.

After this several things stopped working: rear back up lights, radio, A/C

Went to a mechanic and he cut off the melted wires and replaced the fuse. Still, this did not fix anything.

He thinks that possibly the BCM needs replacing. Also, he doesn't know why the rear back up lights don't work, because according to him these generally do not need BCM to function and he thinks they usually have their own fuse, but he couldn't find one.

Anyway, looking for suggestions on what to do next. Would replacing the BCM be the most likely fix?

Thank you for reading.

Definitely sounds like the BCM. Not sure what year your van is but I do believe that from 98 or 99 all of the lights are controlled through the BCM.

Need to know what year the van was built to say anything definitive.
