Default New owner and power door problem

Hello,
I recently bought a 2007 with power everything. Must say I love love love it, but.... I drive kids in the car line and once they all get out, I press the button to close the passenger door and when it's about half way closed, I pull the car out of "park" and start moving. Sometimes the door shuts all the way, sometimes it opens again and I have to pull over, put it in "park", shut it etc..... The manual says that so long as it's a smooth transition, the door should shut all the way even though I'm moving slowly. I have tested this out in my road. If the door is 1/4 way shut and I change from PARK to DRIVE and move, the door opens again. It seems that it needs to be at least 3/4 way shut before I can put it in drive and move without fear of the door re-opening. I this seems like a trivial matter but when you've got ten cars behind you in the car line, and you're holding them up, those two seconds seem like forever. Is this a normal thing or should the door shut all the way, no matter when I put it into DRIVE?

Just to be safe, I wouldn't move my car unless all the doors were fully shut.
