have just got a 1998 3.3 auto [prnd3l] voyager but no reverse and when its reved in reverse it backfires, have checked fluid levels and filter ,are there any other checks i can my self like relays ,fuses etc cant afford a rebuild , any ideas would be great. tony

 

It is likely you have lost the reverse gear in the tranny.I am assuming that it will operate in the forward gears. It could possibly be a stuck valve in the valve assembly on the front of the tranny but I do not know if there is a single valve in the valve-pack that would cause only reverse to fail...
