Default P06DA Oil pump Assembly

Have a 2016 Town & Country with the check engine light on, P206DA code. Took it to Firestone and they said it was the solenoid connected to the oil pump assembly. About $1700 to fix. Technician told me the silver lining here though is that it is not an urgent fix. Doesn't affect driveability or anything. Only issue is the engine light will stay on so I may not know if something else goes wrong since the light will already be on. I suppose for peace of mind I likely will get it fixed. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if so, how long have you drove with the issue? Makes me wonder what the point of the solenoid is if doesn't affect anything.
