Removing the rear rotor

Removing the rear rotor
Okay, so, needed to change my rear brakes and upon further inspection I noticed that the rotors are in desperate need of changing as well, everything was going fine until I went to remove the rotor and it will not come off!! It moves out about 1/4 of an inch and then it feels like something is just holding it on there and it won't come out any further. I have been reading about the possibility of the emergency or parking brake holding it up, if so, how the hell do I solve that issue??? I have a 2003 Town and Country, if that helps solve the problem. Now, to inform you, yes I have sprayed it with rust remover and I have knocked the stuffing out of it but it still won't budge! I really hope someone can point me in the right direction here...

Okay, I will give it a shot in the morning...man I hope it works! I bought this van from someone who said he was a dealer and have had nothing but problems since. There is also a clunking noise in the front end that I can't figure out...can't take the van back because the guy moved his office and won't answer his phone calls...I want to keep her so I have to fix her :-)

I don't mean to offend you -----but -----you have released the brake ???-----We have ALL overlooked the obvious
The next thing is to un-adjust the brake-----there is probably a ridge of rust (or from wear---unlikely on a park brale)
then just keep wriggling/pulling
There is also a chance that the shoe retaining pin/spring have come out-----that has been/is a right pita with mine-----I have temporarily taken my shoes out of one side as the pins pulled out of the back plate !!
