Default Replacing Alternator Pulley... Help

Can I replace my existing alternator pulley with a decoupler pulley if it didn't have one originally? I see Gates has them for my make/model year. It suppose to eliminate noise, vibration and make the entire serpentine system run smoother.
I have an '07 T&C Touring 3.8L. Thanks in advance.

As a quick reply there's a thread write up on this issue on here, someone even welded one up to make it solid. If I remember its a Bu**er to come off...

Your answer is on "Can I weld the Alternator Pulley" 03-29-2014...which as it says if you want to replace it you've got to weld the two parts together to get the securing nut off...
