Default Replacing the Drive/Prop shaft

My Chilton manual has nothing on replacing the driveline, (from the front PTO to the rear diff')
Does anyone out there have a procedure for this with relevant do's and don'ts. I am assuming that i will need to drain off the ATF fluid from the overrun clutch as it looks as though the casing will have to be split. Other than fluid, is anything else likely to fall out. The reason for replacement is that I have a horrible noise coming from the large circular part of the shaft and vibration at take up.
Thanks
Ian
