Question Replacing EGR valve (2006 3.8L)

I remember reading a post about replacing the EGR valve without removing the alternator. (I searched but couldn't find what I was looking for). The lower bolt on the EGR looks really tough without getting the alternator out of the way. Any suggestions? Or, would it be easier in the long run just to move the alternator out of the way?

TIA,

Gary

Unhappy need to remove alternator

Well, I couldn't get to the lower bolt without removing the alternator -- see my post on the procedure FWIW
