Default roof lining

can someone advise please because I have tried everything , my roof lining hangs down on both sides above my head and passenger side , I tried adhesive spray but no luck , so I tried carpet adhesive spray , held it up for over a day but still drops back down

I've always found carpet adhesive very effective, it seems to be ordinary contact adhesive in a spraycan, and it certainly smells like contact adhesive.
Maybe there is some contaminant on the backside of the headlining, or on the roof which is stopping the sticky?

Maybe you can try "High Tack mounting kit" I used it with great success gluing my (porous) isolation panels in my Mercedes. I tried several types of glue (and failed) before I found this and it holds perfect for 2 years already.
