Default Rough braking become Ok when ABS light comes on

So, changed brake pads and discs last week. everything was fine then the ABS light and brake warning light come on!! No noticeable problems when driving or braking even with the lights on! The 2 lights go off! Excellent, problem solved!!
Except now the brakes are rough and vibrating and don't feel at all safe... Abs light comes back and the brake operate perfectly! Now the ABS comes and goes and whenever it goes the brake are terrible!

Any Ideas?!!

I'd say renew both front ABS sensors as there only about £25 each. Clean Castleated/reluctor/rings on drive shafts while your down there. And make sure disc to hub faces are clean. If vibs persist check runout on discs with dial gauge.

On E-bay yes £25 ish, dealers you will pay £70 odd, But yes senor is at fault. I had similar probs Are the ABS ring`s rusty, might be as well cleaning them why the wheels are off.
