Default Rough idle running codes

I've had our family 2000 T&C for almost 10 years, and just tonight it stopped running. like a fuel delivery problem. i checked the fuel pump and it seems to be working fine. the car starts (sometimes) but won't rev, and feels like it's out of fuel. then i tried to run codes on it, but i can't remember how that's done on this model. (LXI 3.6) what gets me on this problem is it was all of a sudden. it ran tip top until about 5 pm MST tonight. i've worked on this van many times in the last ten years i'm not a tech but i can turn a wrench. all your help is as needed as it is appreciated.

now i think it's the fuel filter, but there are plastic fittings in the filter without clamps, how do those come off?
