Steady driving, then stalled. What to check?
Hi all,
Ok, all was happy in the world of my Grand Voyager (2.8 CRD 2004 - 40,000 miles)
Today (just below freezing temps) I had driven about 20 miles and was cruising at 40 mph when it just cut out.....
I've trudged through the forum and found a few posts on the subject, but nothing that seems to be the same circumstances.
Thing is, what should I look out for if it happens again?
Nothing 'weird' seemed to happen before / after. It started again and continued it's journey.
I will get some fuel additive just in case. I dippe the oil, that was fine, though I notice that the oil light stays on when you put the ignition on. All the other lights go out. - I took this as normal? It goes out when I start the car.
Only thing I will say is that it has been a little rough starting a few times in the cold.
If someone can point me towards things to check / monitor I hope that if it happens again I can see what the problem is.
Many thanks,
Phil

Oil pressure light will stay on until the car starts, as there's no oil pressure until the engine is running.
Did you accelerate firmly at the point it cut out? If so, search for P1150 error code on here and you may find one possible problem. If it was steady speed, not accelerating, then this is unlikely to be the problem though.
Worth checking for error codes.
