Default UK Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD 2007 running rough at low revs

Hi I got into my missus Grand Voyager today which has never had a problem, however recently I noted a couple of things...starting when cold often takes 3 or 4 attempts but the main issue that I noticed today was that when driving off the car seems to have a misfire at around 1000-1200 rpm, over that or with a heavy foot it drives as normal.
The lumpiness is only at these low revs, I know the car is in need of a service which I am doing this weekend but want to know if there is anything I should be looking for that may be causing this problem, egr valve, pressure relief valve, crank sensor, injectors etc?
Hoping that the collective knowledge here might be able to point me in the right direction and negate the need for a visit to the main stealers.
Thanks in advance

Well first fault or difficulty starting leads to possible answers of pressure not building up in fuel rail. But your second fault of misfire gets us into the answer.
Your car is experiencing early symptoms of injector failure to put it strait. Faint misfire with poor starting is the clue. One or more of your injectors may be stuck open or returning excessive fuel hence fuel rail pressure not building up.
So your first check is an injector leakoff test.

Thanks for that, will do that tomorrow if the Gods decide not to open the heavens on us. any idea what the injectors are like to replace? I know I have needed special equipment on previous vehicles.

Scotsman4th is the one for Injector removal tips. Your going to need a proper removal tool unless you can hire one. The right tool looks like the one from BGS Tools per Fleebay. £133 though. Don't try bodging it or you may need a new head or old one machined out. Best tool is Hydraulic but that's specialist. Give it a good soak with penetrating fluid down side of injector for a good day. Corrosion of the discimilar metals is a real problem. And don't refit with copper grease due to previous problem.

If I needed them out again, I'd buy the tool right away.
Unfortunately I lost mines in a garage fire, or I'd have posted it to you.

Update...the car is now running fine no hesitation no hiccups BUT fault codes have come up....P0400 EGR....P0100 MAF... P0048 Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control "A" Circuit High
Whacked a can of EGR cleaner through it put a new MAF on it but MIL light still returns after a few miles.
Havent had chance to do leak back test yet, still thinking Injector???

Thanks goggs...on the question of vacuum hoses is it normal to here a hissing ( like a purge ) after shut off?...this appears to be coming from the vacuum sensor above the EGR
Also removed the EGR and plenum yesterday and thoroughly cleaned all the Sh*t from inside.

Had exactly same problem on my 2007 GV CRD, vacuum leak that could be heard after switching off engine... lasted abot 20-30secs

I also noticed that the brakes felt a bit wooden at low speed.

Turned out to be the little 3 port vacuum switch mounted by the EGR. I cleaned it once, lasted about 1-2 weeks then started to leak again.

Replaced it with a 2nd hand one off Ebay for £10, it's been fine for 6 months now.
