Default uk grand voyager owner new to site

hey guys lee from cornwall uk here.just bought a cheap gv today , the rear silencer has broken away from exhasut pipe at the join, rusted clean off. i still have the silencer part and wondered if this is a common thing and has anyone had experience of welding or in some other way reattaching it.

in a way it sounds ok ,more like a v8 chevy lol

Any mechanic will be able to weld it back together, but it's only really a short term fix. I've had exhausts welded in the past to get through the MOT test, but they start blowing again within a few months at the most. A clean break welded probably won't last very long at all.

You'll really have to replace the section of the exhaust.
