I just upgraded from a 2009 with 270,000 miles on it to a 2016 Anniversary Edition with 75,000 miles. I plugged my iPod into the USB port in the glove box and it charged, but it did not connect to the radio. I tried to upload a couple of pictures to the hard drive, but they would not transfer. Now I have purchased the map update kit and when I plug the flash drive into the port and after waiting 10 minutes, nothing happens. Is there some way to troubleshoot this port. There is power coming from it, but no data transference.
Does it not have a USB port on the head unit? I think you need to open the little flap on the front of the port. I'm sure the USB port in the glove box is just for power.

Got the job done! The thought the arrow point down referenced the rca plug below. Everything is working great.
In the UK we don't have a USB port in the glove box nor do we have the dashboard mounted shift lever. I just know about the US versions after renting a few in Florida.
