Default voyager 2008 2.8 CRD no start

Hi, please assist...engine management on: low fuel rail pressure...
had injectors tested, one was faulty (backflow) so i replaced... vehicle will still not start. i disconnected the rail inflow pipe: on ignition on and on crank no fuel exiting. The pipe leads to a high pressure bosch pump 35022104H. I disconnected the outlet of the pump: no fuel on ignition or crank. I disconnected the inflow to the pump: on ignition fuel flows nicely. So the main fuel tank pump seems to be working.
Can I safely assume the pump is gone and replace it?

I'm not an expert on it but it certainly sounds like your high pressure fuel pump is bad from the diagnostics you've done there.

I recently posted about fuel pump issues (that was low pressure side though) but I put up the workshop manual info on the fuel system which might help you 2.5Crd Rear Fuel Lift Pump Won't Stop Running - Help - Voyager 4th Generation (2001-2007) - Chrysler Forum UK

It includes the diagram showing the components to confirm what you're looking at there.

Just one issue here on the high pressure pump not producing fuel. Just wondering if the cars ECU/Brain doesn't want the engine to start.

Hi
Thanks for reply. On further testing: this high pressure pump seems to operate solely off the engine speed. there doesnt seem to be any control from engine management. The pump has what seems to be a solenoid valve on the front of it. The voltage on the plug is 8volts but doesnt activate the solenoid. I ran a straight 12 volt connection from the battery and immediately hear the solenoid clicking. I have tried to get more info on what the voltage to the solenoid is supposed to be without any luck.
so it seems that no fuel is passing through as the valve is closed. I am going to try and run a seperate 12v power supply to the solenoid and try to startup the vehicle today, but theres been 2 days of rain here in johannesburg south africa....
