Good day. I’ll tell you about the mechanical problem I have with my 3.3 van. Three years ago the battery died, I replaced it, and then there was a problem with the interior fan regulator. I replaced the part and everything was fine. But after a while, the engine suddenly started having a really hard time starting when hot and doesn’t stabilize for a good while. The first thing I did was change the spark plugs, coil, sensors, and check the fuel pump. Everything stayed the same. It’s been to 5 mechanics and nobody knows how to fix it, months went by and nothing. The last one even wanted to send it to the scrapyard. So I’ve been using it very little these past years. Now I sent the Voyager with a friend to look for solutions. First, we managed to find the issue the OBD2 shows: two errors:
Engine fauit P0171
Engine fault P1684




I disconnected and cleaned the contacts. No solution.

Well, this is the story of these 3 years. But I am not going to throw it away. I will manage to fix it. Let's see if it has happened to anyone. Here in Europe, they don't know or don't want Chrysler problems, it is no longer sold. Any idea on where to go next? Replacement of the part with another?

Carlos the connector you have in your hand is for the transmission computer wont have anything to do with it starting.

P0171 to much air not enough fuel air leak from intake or a hose is split something allowing more air into the engine then designed.
Get a goos scanner so you can see the sensor readings fuel trim and so on. DO not disconnect the battery it will erase all data and your stuck.

 

Thank you for the advice. The symptoms are as follows: When cold, it struggles a bit, but it starts, then there is a while when it seems to stall or it stops. After a few minutes, it runs somewhat well. If you rev it higher, the engine doesn’t even run properly, but it can work. If you stop the engine when it’s hot, it has a hard time starting. In the end, it does start and then fails again until it stabilizes.







It was also taken apart to look at it and the joints were renewed. You can see the good condition and care I have given it over so many years. It is a very pleasant 6-cylinder and rare to see in Europe.

define your hard starting will spin over not fire up or fire up stumble wont rev? Have you checked fuel pressure there is a black cap you can remove and put a gauges on it to see what your fuel pressure is.
