Voyager 5th Generation Engine Options
I'm thinking of trading in my 4th generation 2007 2.8 CRD for a later model 5th generation vehicle. However, because of the increases in the price of diesel fuel compared to unleaded and the threat that, in the near future, diesel engines will face higher emissions charges, I was hoping to get hold of a petrol engined 5th generation model. Unfortunately it seems that the petrol engined variants are as scarce as rocking horse poo. I'm beginning to think that Chrysler never imported any 5th generation models with petrol engines. Does anybody know?

You'll be looking at 20-25 mpg with a petrol model Alan. As to this telling us what to buy in cars, buy battery powered, buy Petrol powered, don't buy diesel. Well its up to us to decide that issue by sticking up our two fingers. As to second hand battery cars, about 80% were first used as Taxi's. Mileage, wear, etc is easily taken care of.

Thanks goggsy, I understand the mpg difference between diesel and petrol but my reasoning is that currently, at my local garage, diesel is 6p a litre more than unleaded. Also I recently got back from a trip through France and down to the southern Spain in my BMW 630i. A total of 3,600 miles in 3 weeks and I averaged 32.6 mpg. On such a trip, if a 3.8 litre Voyager could get close to 30 mpg then it would be acceptable to me. I have driven a few petrol Voyagers in America and Canada this year and like the smoother and quieter experience.
I expect I'll end up with another diesel anyway because 5th generation Voyagers with petrol engines just don't seem to be available.
