Default Childish 1996 Cirrus LXi will voluntarily leave home but is very reluctant to go back

Normally, it will start up fine the first time of the day, but after you go to a store or some place and try to go home, it just cranks. I have a smoke while waiting and typically it will start back up again no problem.

This has been going on for a year now, gradually getting worse, until a few months ago I went to a store and it didn't start for over an hour and I had to leave it in the parking lot & hitch a ride home. I went back for it in the morning and it started instantly.

Some notes:

  • It died once at a stop sign, otherwise, never really stalled mid-drive.
  • The oil light likes to come on during red lights and slightly flicker.
  • When the ignition is turned off, the car rumbles as it stops.
  • The idle control valve and electronic distributor has been replaced but the problem persists.
  • I unplugged the lower EGR vacuum tube, it had suction but leaving it off did not solve the problem.
