I have a 96 Sebring, non-convertible. I just had the water pump replaced and I told the mechanic that it idles high as well, it wouldn't idle high for him, but when i got it back it idles higher then what it did. The water pump costed me an arm and a leg (maybe because I'm a chick) but I was wondering what would make this do this? There are things on a vehicle that I know how to do so I'm hoping that I can just buy the part and put it on myself, can anyone help me, please...

do u have a check engine light on and how high is high whats a n rpm number?

 

between 3 and 4 when i'm in park sitting in my driveway and the check engine light was on until thursday and now it's not but continues to idle high

 

3 and 4 what hundred thousand? if thousand I would say he made a vacuum leak some where.
