Default 1993 Chrysler New Yorker

Good Morning to anyone reading this post before 12 pm,

i recently purchased a 1993 new yorker for 500$ because my wife left me and took our new toyota with her,, i mean i could of chosen a cheap newer rio or some awful Korean car for 500$, but i loved how big the new yorker was and i love v6's.. so after replacing a brake line that ran me 160$ because it sprung a leak... on christmas eve.. the fan stops blowing... (merry christmas to me huh ?).. now that 160$ cleaned me out.. im not a big income earner (hence the cheap car).. so i dont know what to do... i need to defog the windshield on those cold Canadian mornings...im not so much worried about me being warm as much as i am concerned with seeing whos in front of me on the freeway for that 10 km drive to work and back.. i replaced the fuse.. 30A.. no change.. i should also mention that i had the fan on maximum speed before it just gave up and died.. and yes i do have one of those tiny 12 V heater/blowers that recently gave up on blowing hot air period... .. so please give me any suggestion to just defog/defrost all my windows.. primarily the front windshield... spray rubbing alcohol ? maybe some of you know a very good cab heater ?? i just need something to see the highway.. please.. or maybe a reason why the fan stopped turning.. oh i should mention that the first fuse i replaced wasnt completely burned.. just slightly but there was still a connection...

Happy holidays to everyone... thank you

If the car has manual climate control, the you should check the blower resistor. If it's automatic temperature control, then it may be the blower module. Could also be the blower motor in either case.

Well the gentleman who sold me the car told me something about a fan always dying, for some reason I pictured the radiator fan and he gave me a giant fuse like the type to go inside the engine fuse box not inside The car

The heater blower will be protected by a fuse MUCH smaller than 50 amps. A blown fuse is not the only reason an electrical component is not working. You need to check the components mentioned in the previous reply as they are directly related to the operation of the fan motor.

Not sure about your model but typically, they are located on the passenger side in the heater/A/C plenum. Resistors require a lor of air flow for cooling, so that's why they are in the plenum. Look behind or under the glove box for a bunch of wires going into the plenum.

Default I need help with my ... 1993 Chrysler New Yorker salon

On my 1993 New Yorker Salon ... 3.3 engine.
No fog lights ...
The pull ****, on the dash, opens the covers and turns in the lights (two low beams lights and two high beams) ...
the socket that plugs in into the back of the headlight switch, a pull-****, on the dashboard ... that socket got a bit warm an melted a bit.
Therefore when my headlights are on for awhile ... they will go off from time to time.
Pushing the switch in a bit and pulling it back out ... turns the lights on again.

I need to find that socket ... can anyone advise/assist me?
david
