1996 Sebring Sunroof Cable Timing
How do I get the sunroof cables timed? The left sunroof guide assembly jammed and the cable slipped (a loud clicking sound). I fixed the guide assembly and found the cables are not the same length ... not timed. So now the left and right sunroof guides do not operate in sync. Forecast for this weekend is RAIN!

RE: 1996 Sebring Sunroof Cable Timing
The sunroof control unit, located to the right of the switch, times the left and right cables. Close the sunroof, lower the headliner, remove the control unit, line up two "white marks" on the upper and lower control unit gears ... reassemble. Be sure to test the sunroof operation, and grease the cables and guide assemblies before reassembly. BTW, completely removing the headliner is not necessary, but is highly recommended. I lowered the front half, but did so with great care. The headliner is like a big egg ... easily broken. This was a tedious job so make sure you have time, patience and a few cool beverages. PS: The Chrysler factory manual was invaluable ... lots of pictures and enough instructions to help figure out the entire sunroof repair and operation.
