Default 2001 Sebring PCM question

I have a 2001 Sebring and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if I can take a PCM out of a wrecked car that has the same exact motor in it and put it in my Sebring without having to have it programed by a dealer. If it's the same motor it shouldn't need to be programed should it? I have seen plug and play PCM's online that say they're already programed. Would it be the same if it's already been in a car with the same motor?

Those PCM's you see on the internet must be programmed with your VIN and mileage to work properly.
