Default 2007 PT Cruiser Part Identification

can anyone tell me what this is and where it goes on my PT Cruiser? Was on ground after my husband worked on the thermostat and coolantcoolant resivor. Please help.

looks to be something aftermarket not factory

Thank you. Just not sure if it was going to hurt anything not being on but don't know where it was. Have had to do a lot of electrical work on the car.
