2008 Sebring HVAC Calibration?
I've been looking all over with no luck on this. Hopefully someone here can help.
'08 Sebring started having HVAC issues about a year ago. It started with the re-circ. door actuator clicking, which I never got around to looking into. I just had the blend door actuator fail. Popped it apart and found a broken plastic gear. So I throw a new one on and the actuator wants to over-travel. The normal travel is maybe 90 degrees, but the actuator wants to rotate over 360 degrees. I can install the actuator and it will somewhat function, but not correctly. Full hot and full cold are OK, but adjustment between the two is non-existent. I think it's just bottoming out on the hard stops (which is what I assume caused the failure in the first place).
I'm guessing both actuators went out of calibration at the same time, and the blend door finally failed. I tried un-hooking the battery for an hour or so w/out any change. Dealer wants $150 for a calibration, which seems steep. Do I have any other options here? Are there any scanners sub $500 that might handle this?
Thanks in advance!
