2011 Chrysler 300 Flex fuel, Fuel Pump Replacement/Diag
2011 Chrysler 300 3.6L V6 Flex fuel
Car will turn on, cranks for a while but won't make the final kick over to start, tried to spray starter fluid in the air intake and got it to start but it would run real rough and then die as soon as I let off the gas. The general consensus is its the fuel pump but I'm not sure if I need to replace the left or right unit. The fuel gauge works so I'm under the impression the right unit is still good. Also I wanted to see if it was an option to use a gas fuel pump in the flex fuel car if I'm not running any special fuel. Just trying to get a cheaper part to get the car running till I can buy something worth while.
In summary
- How can I know if the left v right unit is failing?
- Are gas/flex fuel pumps interchangeable?
- Is there anything I need to be aware of before replacement?

Driver side is the main pump pass side is the secondary it uses the main pump to make a vacuum tp pull fuel from the pass side to the main side. No you can not uses a flex fuel pump unless your car already has flex fuel .
Update: I was able to replace the main pump and fix the issue. Car seems to be running fine. Going to focus on small maintenance repairs and replace the secondary pump when I can. Appreciate your feedback!
