93 T&C Voodoo Transmission issue
Hello all,
I have a 93 Town and country 3.3l v6 3 speed with OD transmission that is doing the Oddest thing. Several transmission shops have not been able to locate the problem. This is what It does.
I can drive the van around 21-22 Miles without any symtoms at all. but after that the van stops shifting completely. If I stop, shutoff and then restart with it in 1st gear, it will go in 1st or reverse fine, but it will not shift. If you let it sit turned off for a period of time, it will come right back and shift fine.. for another 21-22 miles. Checking the TCU NOR ECU show any codes at all. The ATF temerature doesn't fluctuate. and it shifts perfectly for the first 20 miles. Please tell me I'm not the only one! Has anyone ever had this symptom and been successful in fixing it?
Pulling what's left of my hair out!

RE: 93 T&C Voodoo Transmission issue
Hi Ray,
check the transaxle fluid. If there is too few the tranny doesn´t shifts after a while and will go into the limp mode. After shutoff it will be going fine again for a while.
Drive the vehicle for several miles to get the normal operating temperature, check the dipstick, the level should be kept between the two upper holes (HOT). If not, add enough fluid to raise the level. Use only the mopar ATF+3 for this 93, don´t overfill the transaxle. What´s the color of the fluid ? It must be red. When did you the last change of the fluid and tranny filter ?
Tell me, if this tip works.
