Default Chrysler Aspen AC Stops After Driving

On hot days after driving a half-hour+ the AC fan will continue to blow full blast and cool air no longer comes out. Barely any air comes out of the vents. Condensation drips on passenger side floor. Radio unit below AC controls is really hot to the touch. Sometimes after driving another hour with ac completely off, it will
work again for a short time.

Similar issue occurred twice with heat. Cool day (50 degrees) and after driving an hour the fan continues to blow but, no heat. No way to clear the window that desperately needed defrost mode - had to pull over.

Compressor and freon replaced twice. Been in dealership and now private mechanic for 7 weeks over last 3 years - no fix! Intermittent so unable to recreate the issue.

Help! Please... 😉

Sounds like the evaporator core is iced up. There should be an icing switch that will prevent that. Might want to check for that.
