Default Oil Light

I have a 04 Pacifica. This car sat in a garage in Florida for 3 years after my dad passed, the it was driven to MS where my mother relocated and it sat outside for 8 years maybe getting driven a half dozen times in all those years. It has 113K miles on it. Runs well, My problem is if I turn the key to start 50% of the time the oil light will turn on and stay on, but If I turn the car off and restart it the oil light stays off, or If I just turn the key to on and wait for all the lights to go off then start it, the oil light will stay off, so I'm thinking either oil sensor or related wiring. Where is the oil sensor and is it difficult to remove it or do I need a special wrench?

Thanks for any input.

What is the the engine?

Has the oil been changed and filter replaced? Be certain the proper viscosity oil is used, should be labeled on the oil fill cap.

Believe the '04 is similar to the '05 engine - check this link

Thanks for the reply, Yes 10w30 Mobile High mileage synthetic and new filter.. The engine runs perfect, so I figure it's either wiring or sensor. It's a shame the car sat outside for all those years with no use, but I figure maybe $1000 - $1500 for new shocks & struts and minor stuff like the oil light and it'll be a good daily.
