I am Maarten Rademakers. I live in the Netherlands at the sea in Noordwijk. I am a car enthausiastic and own a Chrysler Voyager 3.3L 2004 (in the US it is called Town and Country if I am correct) with a build in LPG system and a Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ 5.9L 1998.
The Chrysler has some issues that I don’t understand. It sometimes has a hard start and has occasionally misfires. No oil consumption, maybe a little cooling consumption. No overheating. With the oil cap of no excessive blow by or hard suction. Did a smoke test ((hose in brake booster tube) with no leakage.
I have an OBD reading which shows very high positive fuel trim, high map values, 30% load on idle. The map/load spikes excessively when stepping on the gas in neutral. Also the timing rises tot 50 degrees when opening the throttle.
i already replaced the map sensor but nothing changes.
can somebody helping me? I am out of options...
Welcome, A 16 yr. old vehicle that was known to have weak head gaskets and similar oil consumption/coolant loss.I have not dealt with LPG systems here in USA, but if you really want to find the cause I would suggest looking into removing the complete intake manifold and replace the intake manifold gaskets IF on disassembly they are found to be bad. IF they look OK, then plan on more work (labor intensive) for cylinder head gaskets.
You are on the right "track" in that the MAP is looking at vacuum to have the computer adjust mixture, you need to FIND the leak..
Good luck to you
