Default Suspension problems

Hello, we have a 2005 Voyager which was fine until our holiday last October in wales but has since then developed intermitent ' clonking ' or creaking sound when being driven. It is not obvious all the time and is worse when first starting off, quite noisy when car is going over bumps or other uneven surfaces. Will be due MOT soon and was wondering if this is a common fault with voyagers? I have spoken to another owner who said theirs developed the same problem and when taken to garage they couldnt fix it, wasnt a suspension fault which it appears to be. Any one know about this please or any ideas where I should start looking?

Thanks
