Temperature gauge with warning light?

Cant find temp warning light near temp gauge, should there be one? After putting ignition on looks like all warning are working, exept temp warning. It might be a blown bulb? What happens when temp rises too much.. a sound warning(beep..?) Car is '96 Neon.

Your owners manual should describe all the lights and gauges of the instrument panel.

For me this was a big issue, never had a car with no temp warning light...
and temp gauge was always showing max. 2/5, when really hot too and fan on, so i didnt trust it at all... broken gauge or temp sensor or bad welding on circuit board?

But i got an answer from Finnish chrysler website and i want to share this with you all:

-Detach coolant temp sensor connector
-Turn ignition on, temp gauge should be at lowest position
- Ground temp gauge sending unit connector pin 3.Turn ignition on, temp gauge should be at highest position and you should hear a warning sound.
- If OK, check temp sending unit connection,if OK renew sending unit.
- If not OK, with sound and gauge showing Cold, renew gauge. If this is not helping you should check instrument panel circuit board.

I got bad sending unit or bad connection. I changed the unit.
