took my pt to a shop problems
It seems to make sense that the starter/starter drive is bad but when you have an expert and NAPA both tell you its fine, you dont want to run out and buy a new starter. Too bad we bought a new soleoid as I will get another new one with the new starter. I will post back when we get a new starter installed. Is a 3 year rebuilt NAPA starter the way to go?

I don't see how your starter issue has anything to do with this subject. On these Nipendenso starters, I never saw one with a separate solenoid. Rebuild kits yes, but no solenoid. I'd say that given your problem, yes, you should just go buy another starter. But I wouldn't get a 3yr Napa. ONLY get a dealer OEM unit!!!
