04 Chrysler Concorde 3.5l. P0700 code. Need info
New to this forum.
bought a 04 Concorde from the auction.
Battery needs to be replaced, car overheats, and this p700 code came up.
Should I install the new battery then check for codes?

I drove it around 2 miles and I seen the temp gauge go up, so I parked it.
I could see coolant coming from the bottom of the car.
I assumed it was coming from the radiator hose or the reservoir.
had it towed.
I bought a new radiator cap, filled reservior with coolant and water,
it over heated.

There are many possible causes for overheating ranging from low coolant to blown head gasket. You need to read up on all the possible causes and eliminate them one at a time, starting with the cheapest and easiest first. A P0700 code is an indication that there are transmission fault code(s) stored in the computer. You will need a more sophisticated code reader to get to those actual code(s). Seems like you have a project car on your hands. Your first investment might be in a shop manual such as a Chilton's of Haynes.
How many miles? The timing belt and water pump should be changed out at 100,000 mile intervals.
For the transmission, I would suggest dropping the transmission pan and replacing the filter. Check the pan for metal chunks. The magnet will likely have a good amount of fuzz but no chunks I don't recall how much fluid the 42LE takes after a pan drop but plan on 5-6 qts. Use only ATF+4 (walmart supertech atf+4 is licensed and the best price I have found).
