Default 06 Sebring..p0499

Hi, looking for some advice/information. 2006 Sebring with 120,000 miles. Car has been driven maybe 25 miles a week avg in the past two years. In the last month's time the wiper motor went out (replaced at the shop) and car has always past inspections. To determine wiper motor was dead I pulled and switched around fuses to confirm. Alas, in pulling fuses I set off several codes which I cleared with my code reader. Simultaneously, finally, the car sat long enough that the battery started dieing. Jump starting when needed went fine. Got to the point that the battery would drain and it would no longer accept a jump. Changed battery, she now starts. However, I am now still stuck with code p0499 which will not clear! I believe it is a NVLD Vent Solenoid issue. Is the solenoid located on the drivers side back near the firewall. It has an electrical connection and two hoses connected to it. If so, I did pull the connection off and it set a p0443 code. I than plugged it back it and was able to clear the code with no problem. Cannot clear the p0499 code. Does this mean the solenoid is probably bad. Could the wiper motor repair have unwillingly jostled something awry, and why can i not clear the code. I realize if cleared the code will only return, buy why can i not clear it at all. Thoughts please!

This is the "New Members" part of the forum where people introduce themselves. You might have more luck if you posted in the Sebring part of the forum where Sebring owners hang out. Include relevant data such as engine size. I don't know the answer to your problem but aging rubber hoses could be an issue here. The car is going on 17 years old and there could be deterioration in those old rubber hoses. When in doubt, always look for the cheapest solution first.
