Smile 2003 Dodge Durango

I have a 2003 Durango SLT Plus 4WD with ABS. Recently my ABS keeps coming on when I am almost stopped even though I am on dry pavement. I took it to my Mechanic and he checked for codes, could not get any codes? He said it could be wheel bearings, or the tone ring, whatever that is. Also, I looked up my VIN on this Forum and it indicated “4 wheel, rear wheel” under ABS Brake System. I do not understand what that means. Should I replace all the wheel bearings or the complete front hubs with bearings? I am stumped and my mechanic did not seem to know which way to go. I may try another shop, but my guy has been great in the past. I could possibly do the work myself, but I am getting on in age and it is a bit difficult getting up and down to work on it in my garage. Plus it’s winter here in Ontario, Canada and I don’t have any heat in the garage. I used to maintain the truck entirely myself, and it’s been a real good vehicle, 275,000 km (170,000 miles)now and nearly broken in! I’d like to keep it going at least until 2023! It would be great if anyone can help me with some advice.
Thanks,

if your tech has a good enough scanner there will be codes in the abs control module
