2005 300c 5.7 hemi shuttered then stalled
Was driving on the highway at 55 mph on my way home when I accelerated to pass another car mine started shuttering so I let off the accelerator nd it smoothed right out. It felt like a bad tire but I knew it wasn't the tires cause I just install new tires about 3 months ago. I started to speed up gain and it shuttered again but this time when I let off the gas the car cut off and has not restarted. Lucky for me, a friend was driving by and towed me home about 31/2 miles. My first thought was that I dropped a valve seat but after pulling the plugs and using my bore scope everything looked fine though the plugs need changing. The fuel pump is fine cause I checked the pressure so now I'm lost. If anyone has any thoughts on this, I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks in advance for any help I receive.
If the engine is missing there should be a code regardless of the cause. So either the engine wasn't missing or the code reader is not finding the code. "Shuddering" could be a transmission issue. If there was a bad downshift when you hit the gas there should probably be a transmission fault code, but that would probably require a more sophisticated code reader to pull up. See if you can get a better code reader hooked up to drill down and find out what's going on. There's little point in just guessing and throwing parts at it.
