2007 Pacifica KEY FOB NOT WORK
Having issue with key fob not operating door locks//alarm disable. Had radio issue recently, we had replaced speakers for upgraded, sounded bad, reinstalled factory speakers and all quit, Well kind of, sound would come on with key on for few seconds, tracked problem to being failed a amp. I got an amp and factory sub woofer, sub not previously in car, (but wiring harness was there) from a salvage yard, also from a 2007 Pacifica, All ok for a week or so, sounds great and still working.
Now having problem with key fob, only have one key, started to not unlock/lock unless real close to car now won't do anything. Can lock/unlock door with buttons on door panel, if lock sets deterent system and if unlock w/key in door, sets off alarm/horn honks and lights flash but can start car and all stops. Car still runs and can drive, but concerned about it locking into motor kill mode soon if not resolved.
I will add during radio situation I blew the 25 amp fuse for amp, and replaced with fuse from heated rear seat location, I do not have heated seats so left that fuse socket empty, but also killed battery several times and had removed and replaced several other radio/amp fuses as precaution while working on the amp problem and rewiring stereo. Just to be clear all stereo components are factory, just from two different Pacifica's both 2007, and yes I have replaced the battery in key fob.
