Default 2008 Chrysler Aspen

I just returned from the Chrysler Dealer. My Aspen had a check engine light on.
The dealer told me that the check valves in the gas tank were not working properly, causing the charcoal filter in the evap. system to fill with fuel causing rough running after a fill up. They said the remedy is to replace the gas tank and charcoal filter costing $ 1800.00. Has anyone else has similar problems?
